The CND took part in preparing for the first meeting of the Russian‑Burkinabé Intergovernmental Commission.

The Russian delegation is headed by the Minister of Energy of Russia, Sergey Tsivilev. The day before, a preliminary meeting was held at the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation, attended by representatives of federal executive authorities and Russian companies, including the General Director of the Center for People’s Diplomacy and State Duma Deputy Dmitry Savelyev.

The meeting was of an organizational nature; promising areas for bilateral cooperation between Russia and Burkina Faso were discussed, and key steps to strengthen collaboration were outlined.

“Developing relations with African states is one of the important areas of Russia’s international engagement. I am confident that the work of the Intergovernmental Commission will help expand bilateral ties, implement joint projects, and create new opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation,” Dmitry Savelyev emphasized.
