WHO Urgently Convenes Committee Over Bundibugyo Ebola Outbreak: Dozens of Cases and New Infections Reported. What Is Known?

This was announced by WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus during a briefing. According to him, 30 cases have currently been confirmed in the northern province of Ituri, while in Uganda two confirmed cases have been identified in the capital, Kampala, including one fatality among two people who arrived from the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

It was previously reported that signs of the new Ebola strain appeared in an American doctor who had worked with infected patients in Congo. Thus, the geography of the infection has already affected several countries, and the situation has required an urgent international response.
